There are so many ways to go with a topic as broad as this. It took me a while to pin down one idea, and that was mostly due to procrastination. I am almost a week late on this one, and I didn’t feel like driving out to Barberville to get a picture of a larger-than-life buffalo lawn ornament.

I tried to photograph the chicken incident that occurred last week (just in time for the photo of the week, too!), but I deemed the photo not quite good enough to be a choice photograph. I include it here for your amusement. After all, what’s more amusing than your mother interrupting herself to say very nonchalantly, “There’s a chicken across the street,” realizing you may not have been paying that close attention to her story after all, and therefore asking, “What was the joke again?”

Fortunately, we have an inherently weird backyard. Strange things live here, like these Lego men.

As an adult, when you receive Lego kits for Christmas, what else are you supposed to do with them besides open them immediately, construct the proper form, and then place them somewhere in your garden where they can be happy?

Well, maybe some are happier than others…

Cheers!
